Lumpensammler
(eng. “”).
Series of drawings and digital manipulations
Based on the 19th-century caricature character “Zé Povinho”, created by Portuguese artist Bordalo Pinheiro, Lumpensammler is a derivative project which will grow into a series of drawings.

Routed in my research on 19th-century printmaking processes to print cartography, “Lumpensammler” works with the iconic image of the figure poor Portuguese man. He carries the consequences of the advance of technology and its implications in warfare.

The german word “lumpensammler” comes from the reading of Walter Benjamin's works’, the Arcades project, and on the notes of history.
