The modest object of a portable block of slate originated an artwork, which is meant to represent longing and grief.

The black slate was employed in making tombstones in 19th century Portugal, and traces of its use have been found and studied in cemeteries spread in Porto.

“ways to materialize a Promise” is an ode to personal longing and the process of grieving someone.

It makes a connection between poetry, which can be read in irregular lines of texts, and cartography, following the winding roads of a landscape screenshotted from Google Maps.
